I run to be able to dream

Hi! My name is Markus, I am 18 years old and live in Stockholm. I am originally from Mexico city, but have lived in Stockholm city for 2 years. When I was young, I used to have nightmares about climate change and the end of the world. Not that my dreams made any sense at all. However when I was in 5th grade of primary school, I watched a documentary about climate change, my dad who is a biologist explained to me in a very drastic way how the world was being completely wasted by human beings. Since then i have always dedicated myself to study climate change, it's solutions and the importance to stop it. I was disgusted by the unconsciousness and lack of importance people in my community and country gave to the environment. It was one of the reasons I moved to Sweden, that and because of education, I have always wanted to pursue a career in environment, it has been my dream since I was a kid. My passion for the environment has also made me run and cycle everywhere I go, not just for training but because I believe that if individuals are able to decrease their Carbon footprint by using their legs, instead of a boring car, one could slow down our horrible future. Running for the environment would be an inspiration, and a pleasure to do.
